26 Aug 2009 at 00:10a.m. |
Popular shock jock Max Hudson is doing his morning radio show when he gets a phone call. Across town at Max's house, his wife, Jeanette, has been found dead. In an apparent accident, Jeanette left the gas from her bedroom fireplace on, took a nap and died of asphyxiation.
A month later, Jeanette's sister, Linda, goes to Monk for help. Linda thinks that Max Hudson was somehow responsible for Jeanette's death. Monk agrees to investigate, and after some snooping at Max's house, Monk agrees with Linda that Jeanette's death looks suspicious, and that Max was probably involved. But Max was on the air at the time Jeanette died. How could he have done it?

18 Aug 2009 at 11:55p.m. |
Paul Buchanan is a spoiled, young billionaire who lives in his family's grandiose mansion. Paul's father and stepmother have died recently, and since then, he's been receiving a series of anonymous blackmail letters. Paul has figured out that the letters are coming from his butler, Stilson, and one day, Paul decides to confront him. Stilson apologizes and promises that it will never happen again. Paul draws a gun and shoots the butler dead to assure that it won't.
Later Monk and Natalie are on a visit to Natalie's parents' house, when the conversation turns to their neighbor, the aforementioned Paul Buchanan. Paul grew up with Natalie and has long harbored feelings for her, but Natalie thinks he is a creep. Natalie's parents explain the circumstances of the recent deaths of Paul's father and stepmother. The couple was driving on a nearby county road when they had an accident. Paul's stepmother was thrown from the car to her death, but Paul's father survived. He immediately called 9-1-1 but suffered a heart attack while on the phone, dying just moments after his wife. When Monk questions some of the facts of the story, Natalie suspects foul play. She has a hunch that Paul Buchanan is somehow involved, and hires Monk to look into it.

21 Jul 2009 at 11:55p.m. |
When Captain Stottlemeyer's son Jared skips school to attend a rock music festival, Monk and Natalie join the captain at the festival to help look for him. Monk hates the atmosphere and wants to leave, but soon a roadie named Stork turns up dead of an apparent drug overdose. One of Stork's friends, a fellow roadie named Kendra, insists that Stork was killed. Kendra asks Monk to investigate, and he agrees.
Stork was found with a needle in his arm, but according to Kendra, Stork had quit taking drugs and was afraid of needles. Yet an acupuncturist at the festival confirms that she treated Stork that morning, and that he was looking to score some heroin. Either Stork is back on drugs and over his fear of needles, or something strange is going on. When Monk examines Stork's body, he finds clues that confirm Kendra's suspicions. Stork was indeed killed, but who killed him?

Early one morning, Dr. Kroger's cleaning lady is found stabbed to death in Kroger's office, and the police suspect that one of Kroger's patients could be the culprit. Consumed with the thought that one of his patients would commit murder, Dr. Kroger retires, sending Monk into a complete tailspin.
Monk sets out to uncover what really happened to the cleaning lady. He interviews a fellow patient who had threatened Dr. Kroger in the past, but the patient has a strong alibi. Then, when Monk pays an unannounced visit to Dr. Kroger's house, a rock with a note attached to it is thrown through one of Kroger's windows. The note seems to be from a disgruntled patient, reinforcing the theory that one of Kroger's patients is the killer.

| (6)Mr. Monk and the Class Reunion |
1 Jul 2009 at 00:00a.m. |
It's Monk's twenty-fifth college reunion, and Monk returns to the University of California at Berkeley campus to reconnect with his old friends. Unfortunately, Monk must quickly face the fact that most of his old classmates remember him not as Adrian Monk, but as ¡§Captain Cool,¡¨ so named because of his penchant for defrosting refrigerators. However, there is one woman who remembers Monk, an old friend of Trudy's named Dianne Brooks.
While Monk tries to enjoy the reunion, Captain Stottlemeyer pays him an unexpected visit. A former university nurse has been murdered, and the captain has reason to believe that the killer is an attendee at the reunion. Monk's friend Dianne was close with the nurse, and is saddened by the news of her death. Meanwhile, Dianne's husband, Kyle, is acting strangely. He insists that everyone eat lunch at an old Berkeley hangout, he insists on calling one of their lunch companions, a woman who calls herself Gertrude, ¡§Tudy,¡¨ and later, he pushes everybody into a game of touch football that nobody wants to play.

The largest garbage strike in San Francisco history has just begun. Trash is piling up everywhere, and the sanitation union's boss, Jimmy Cusack, is promising a prolonged work stoppage.
